Dwayne C. Wright completed his PhD from the University of Georgia. At Cleveland State University, Dr. Wright teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including: EDB 301, "Social Foundations of Education;" EDB 604, "Social Issues in Education;" and EDB 608, "School and Society in the American Past;" EDU 805, "Cultural Foundation s I: Social Issues;" and EDU 806, "Cultural Foundations II: Race and Ethnicity."
Dr. Wright's research interests include: the History of Education with an emphasis on student activism and agency regarding education policy reforms. Much of Dr. Wright's work also focuses on twentieth century Black history particularly during the Civil Rights, Black Power, and Hip Hop Movements. Dr. Wright is also a qualitative inquiry methodologist with a special interest in the areas of ethnographic research and oral history in African American communities.
